Meditate On The Message
Pharez was a child born to Judah after his daughter In-law slept with him after posing as a prostitute. Tamar got married to Judah's first son, Er who unfortunately died without a child. As tradition demanded, Onan, Judah's second son slept with her to raise a seed for his elder brother, but ended up discharging the semen to the ground (this was consciously done by him to ensure that his brother never had a child to his name), and as a result of this, God killed him in response to this wickedness. The next son of Judah was supposed to continue with this attempt to raise a seed for Er, but Judah fearing for his life tactfully prevented a union between him and Tamar. At the long run, Tamar posed as a prostitute In a foreign land and got Judah to sleep with her. This is the story behind the birth of Pharez. Ruth was previously married to Mahlon (Naoml's son) who later died childless. She would later be bought by Boaz (a descendant of the family of Pharez) In an attempt to ralse a child for Naoml. Boaz slept with Ruth for this purpose and she gave birth to Obed. Obed would later give birth to Jesse who was the father of David. David committed adultery with Bathsheba, and when she took In, David killed Uriah her husband to conceal his sins. The child died shortly after birth but the next child born to David by Bathsheba became the king of Israel. His name was Solomon. Additionally, Nathan, who was one of the sons Bathsheba had for David became one of the men from whom the genealogy of Jesus is traced. Can you believe that Jesus came from such a lineage? My message to you thls morning Is simple. No matter your past, the greatest story that will be told on earth can still come from you. Just belleve!
