God created the earth in such a way that all areas of life observe the law of opposites. This law states that at any given time, one of two possible things would always be true and that the presence of one thing always means the absence of the other, and vice versa. For instance, there can't be day AND night at the same time, but there would always be day OR night at the same time.
Also, it's either the weather is cold or hot at any given period of time. God hates it when the law of opposites isn't observed or paid attention to. For instance, Jesus Christ was angry with the Laodecian church for not being either hot or cold as seen below: Revelation 3:15-16 (15) I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. (16) So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
The above situation arose because the Laodecians tried maintaining a state that contradicted God's opposite design, and in other to maintain His design, Jesus rather would spue them out. So, God always makes a move towards destroying any entity or thing that at any point tries contradicting the law of opposites. In our focal scripture, we see God mention few examples of the laws of opposites, one of which was the "seedtime and harvest".
Notice that it's "seedtime and harvest" and not "seedtime and harvest time". This is an indication that there's a fixed time for the seed but none for the harvest. It also means that the time to sow is highly regulated and restricted but the time to reap isn't.
In fact, pursuant to the law of opposites, anything outside the seedtime is simply the harvest. The harvest is tied to the seedtime; therefore, if no seed is sown, the harvest never comes. If you do not recognize the time for the seed and sow at exactly that time, then there would be no harvest as nothing would be present at the time of reaping.
I consider this situation a very delicate one, and even nature teaches that different seeds are sown at different times of the year; therefore you must understand your type of seed and its allowed seedtime. When you sow seed at a time not allowed for it, nature does not subject it to the growth process and as such there would be nothing to harvest. Everything in life is a seed, and the bigger part of it becomes the harvest.
Take a look at some examples below: Hosea 8:7 (7) For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up. Galatians 6:7-8 (7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Proverbs 11:18 (18) The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
Proverbs 22:8 (8) He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. You can notice from the above instances that just about anything can be sown. Labour can be a seed, wickedness can be a seed, kindness can be a seed, prayer can be a seed, giving can be a seed, and any other such thing.
The two most important things that guarantee the harvest after sowing are: 1. The type of ground on which the seed is sown. 2.
Whether the planting time matches the seedtime. There are many Christians that know the best places to sow or channel spiritual efforts like labour, giving, and prayer but never know the best time for the seed. The seedtime is always determined by God and can only be known when revealed.
Many do so in vain and consistently fail to receive their reward; and over time, these people get disgruntled with God and eventually throw in the towel. You might have actually done so many good things without receiving a reward from God, and this might be a result of the fact that those things were done at the time when the spiritual laws of sowing and reaping never considered such acts a seedtime. God reminds us once again of the need to always pay attention to the prophetic instructions we receive.
These instructions highlight the seedtime, which is an expression of the best time to take certain steps. If we can follow this supernatural calendar, our harvest would always be guaranteed. Get ready to be visited in Jesus' mighty name!
