He also said that the power that would bring answers to our needs for our lives would be made possible by our purity before His presence. One of the most noticeable things now as far as man's relationship with God is concerned is the fact that we are very quick to remember the promises of God but would always forget the conditions for their fulfillment. Every word of God has a general and a unique condition for fulfillment.
Generally, the condition says, "If you will hearken to my word". And uniquely, the condition would be determined by factors such as the weakness of the enemy, the antidote to the stumbling block, the point of compromise in the victim's life, and several other things. Our focal scripture speaks about deliverance and possessing possessions.
Over the years, I've heard hundreds of people quote this verse to me, and interestingly, I discover that a part is always missing. That part is, "and there shall be holiness". So, the quotation always looks like, "But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions".
The truth also is that even if you were asked to quote this same verse by yourself, you would most likely have made the same mistake. Why then do we make this mistake? Most people hate taking responsibility, we like things easy and would only agree to responsibilities as simple as harvesting, gathering money, and possessing possessions.
We do not like anything that suggests we have things to do towards our expected miracle. We'd rather have the miracle served on a plate and all we would need to do is to sit down and eat. God never works that way!
Obadiah 1:17 says that after deliverance, holiness must follow before the event of possessing possessions can be guaranteed. Anytime I pray for people, I always get them saved if their salvation is in doubt while warning that maintaining a life of holiness would guarantee the sealing of their miracles. The devil understands this process and that's why he always floods your way with different temptations as soon as God delivers or visits you.
Most of the time, a miracle received from God seems to terminate before getting to it's fulness simply because of a sin committed shortly before the time of the miracle's fulness. Satan wages war by pushing us to sin against God in other to make us fail in the generic condition towards the fulness of any miracle that God gives to man. He's called a "Holy" Spirit and can never work when holiness is missing.
God will give you the grace to follow in Jesus' mighty name!
