Scripture Focus

1Co 10:16-18 · KJV

(16) The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? (17) For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. (18) Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

Meditate On The Message

The most important insight received was the exact pattern for communion-taking. According to the word of God, the bread is broken but the cup is blessed. The bread also serves a purpose that's very much different from that served by the cup.

The bread is described as the body of Christ, and the blood described as the blood of Christ. The bread shows us to be one in Christ though many, and spiritually exposes and conditions us to the same blessings and increase. When we break this bread, we signify our individuality, but when we eat of it, we signify our singleness.

Since the word of God shows the bread to signify our corporate access to the same thing, then we have ways of sharing the same blessings. Each time that bread is taken, we are once again exposed to access the good in each other. If I'm strong and you're weak, when you break your bread, you demonstrate the fact that you're different from me, but when you take it, you signify that though different, we're still the same.

By being the same, God immediately gives you access to every good thing in me that's missing in your life and vice versa. Communion is the greatest and fastest way to receive divine increase. It brings us to the point of receiving not by petitioning but by sharing, not by prayer, but by partaking.

The more the good people involved in the same communion ritual with you, the more God finds some needed blessings in your life and commands your spirit to immediately partake. This is why great and amazing breakthroughs and mighty changes accompany the lives of all who genuinely and spiritually partake of any communion.
