Divine Enlargement — Gen 9:25-27

We discovered that every enlargement is an elevation, and every elevation shows a demotion of someone somewhere. In the reading above, Noah pronounces a blessing and an enlargement on 2 of his sons and a demotion on the 3rd son. Notice that for each of the blessed sons, the cursed son was demoted to be a servant.

There can never be a blessing without a curse, a progression without a retrogression, an increase without a decrease. The bitter truth in life is that no individual can be described with the term, "rich" except there are poor people around and no one can be described with the term, "great" except small people exist. Have you tried picturing a world where everyone can afford everything?

A world where everyone can defeat everything? Or a world were everyone can achieve everything? This is absolutely impossible in practice.

Life is designed to achieve balance by the principle of the opposites and the part that ends up being assigned to us is a consequence of our decisions and actions in life. God knew that in other to bless Shem in verse 26, He needed to provide him with a servant, and that servant happened to be Canaan. So, Canaan had to be cursed in other for Shem to be blessed.

Do you realize that each time God blesses an individual, so many more individuals are cursed to be below the same individual? A blessing is an elevation and a curse is a demotion, a blessing distinguishes an individual over others, and since a blessing makes an individual a star, many more individuals would be cursed to exist below the blessed individual in other to make the blessed individual easily noticeable and distinguishable. This is the real reason why God never blesses without attaching a condition.

The condition attached to each blessing is like the labour that must be undertaken in other to earn that same blessing. Who will God demote because of you, who will be lowered for you to be lifted, and who will be removed for you to be added? You must not be guilty of the errors of the ones to be demoted, you must not fall into the snare of the ones that will be cursed to serve you.
