Covenant Faithfulness — Isa 28:15

In the scripture above, we see God talking about a dreadful covenant made by the children of Israel: a covenant with death, and an agreement with hell.

Notice that the actual covenant was with death, and an agreement was forthwith made with hell. A covenant is a kind of agreement made under legal circumstances. In the natural realm, a legal covenant is confirmed with a signature.

This signature recognizes the participants as authentic legal participants in the covenant. In every natural document, a covenant exists between one or more individuals, and this covenant is confirmed by each individual by the appendage of their signature. However, there are some other participants in every legal covenant, these participants are third parties and are called witnesses.

A legal witness is an individual that is present at the time of the creation of the covenant, this individual is not involved in the covenant, but is identified as being in the complete know of the time of the creation of this covenant and the details therein. A witness unlike the main entities, is involved in agreement with the covenanting entities. In all legal documents, the main entities are in covenant while the witnesses are in agreement with the main entities.

This situation is equally true in spiritual covenants. In the scripture above, the children of Israel actually made a covenant with death, and hell witnessed to this covenant. What a powerful, wicked and Satanic covenant!

Why was this covenant made? Look at the phrase, ".when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us.". From this phrase, we see that the children of Israel sinned against God, remembered that God vowed to punish them with death, and in other to avoid this punishment, they made a covenant with death.

Covenants are made to establish a benefit or avoid a consequence. Many years ago, some of our forefathers made powerful agreements with terrible deities in other to either enjoy a benefit or escape a consequence and these covenants had strong executing demons witnessing to them. Every covenant however must be serviced continually, and because our fathers never intimated the generations that followed on the dictates of the covenants, evil was progressively unleashed in the coming generations.

BUT THE LORD SAYS, "ENOUGH OF THE SIEGE".
