Walking in Purity — Job 8:6

The verse above begins with a condition, "if", a word we see scattered all over the word of God. We can see from the above verse that God is always willing and ready to rise up on our behalf and prosper us provided we meet up with specific conditions. Let's take a look at certain implications from that verse.

The sleeping God The first thing God does when we become pure and upright, according to the verse above, is to AWAKE FOR THEE. This suggests that God can be asleep for one person but awake for another person. God's operation and readiness is not general but specific to an individual's commitments towards Him.

This is why you see the scripture use statements like, "My God", "The Lord God of Elijah", and so much more. God can be alert towards an individual but be asleep towards another one. Let's take a look at the verses below to see what happens to an individual when God sleeps towards that person: Psa 44:22-26 (22) Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. (23) Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. (24) Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression? (25) For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. (26) Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.

The following situations become true when God sleeps towards an individual: (a). Death is experienced in every area of life on a daily basis. (b). We maintain the "victim-status" on a regular basis. (c).

We are cast off permanently (Remember we interpreted this to mean demotion for another to take your place) (d). God hides His face. (e). God stops keeping a memory/reminder of our ugly state. (f).

We gradually move towards physical death. (g). We lack help. (h). We lack redemption. (i).

We lack Divine mercy. These are very horrible things which no one hopes to encounter and all just because of the absence of purity and uprightness. The second part of our original verse however states that when purity is present, God prospers THE HABITATION OF OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

So, divine prosperity actually begins from a location in our life, and this location is the same location where righteousness dwells in the body. Where does righteousness dwell in the body? Eze 18:20 (20) The soul that sinneth, it shall die.

The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. The part of the body that can sin is the soul, and this same part can also practice righteousness. God begins prosperity from the soul.

3Jn 1:2 (2) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. When the soul becomes pure, God prospers it, then the wishes of the body can come to pass. A PURE SOUL GRANTS THE WISHES OF THE BODY.

Your wishes have been unable to come to pass because your soul lacks purity. This is a secret of the Lord.
